Update!!!
Ok so I have been a bit rubbish and neglected the blog for a while! oops! But it’s been a busy year so far...
So time for 7 months of blog updating in one post!
Thought I'd let you new how those new years resolutions have come along...
1. See the world... well I saw a fair bit of it in the last 4 months; Madagascar, Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, Laos and Thailand! I'm pretty sure I'm allowed to tick that one off for the time being.
2. Learn to dive... this one I tried but sort of failed! Ended up snorkelling with all the dive kit on! Lets just say I didn't realise I had a fear of being underwater. May give this a miss for a while.
3. Teach in Africa... well I taught in Madagascar so that counts! Amazing experience!
4. Work with the big 5... I didn't work with them but saw them all when on safari which was incredible! Being about 10 meters away from 3 lions eating a wilder beast was pretty mental!
5. Trek through jungle... Definitely did this in Madagascar and had about 50 mozy bites to show for it.
6. Meet an African tribe... met a lot of different African tribes actually which was very interesting. In Kenya and Tanzania there are a zillion different tribes and everyone belongs to one.
7. Work with orang-utans... afraid I failed at this one. Decided it was too pricey to get to Borneo. Saw a hell of a lot of monkeys on my trip though if that counts.
8. Find dream job in fashion... currently tackling this one now!!! C.V is at the ready and website is up and running! Yay!!
9. Move out... well this cant be done until the dream job is found and I have money again! So working on it...
10. Join dance club... currently checking out dance clubs online!!! Yay!! I feel I’ve been pretty successful with the resolutions! Mid years resolution is definitely to keep up the blogging!!!

New year... New you
So I’ve just been to see the ‘new years eve’ film! (A little late I know) but it has definitely inspired me to start thinking more about my plans and resolutions for 2012!!
I’ve got a lot of aspirations for this year so I think getting them down on paper/ online is probs the best place to start.
Here it goes…
1. See the world
2. Learn to dive
3. Teach in africa
4. Work with safari animals (the big 5)
5. Trek through a jungle
6. Meet an african tribe
7. Work with orangutans
8. Find my dream job… In fashion
9. Move out
10. Join a dance club (everyone needs a get fit resolution)
Okay.. 10 is probably enough for now!!
Not asking for much really! Travel plans are already on the go though.. And I’m always on the look out for a dream job!

Illustration
So, I got a bit excited and instead of working on my fmp, I decided to add some colour to one of my illustrations and I'm pretty pleased with the outcome considering it only took about an hour.
Sooo excited to do more illustrating soon... will be starting up my own website of stuff soon as well.
Heres my first final illustration... 'believe'

My illustrations
I found an old illustration sketchbook that I was working on last year in my free time. I've totally neglected it this year though as I never seem to have a spare moment. Definitely going to start work on it after my final hand in though. Im excited to add colour and pattern to the imagery.
Heres a few examples... very unfinished at the moment though...

Fashion illustration
I've been studying fashion promotion for the past three years which I have really enjoyed and learnt a lot from. But, i come from a creative background and have always loved to draw and paint, and I miss it!! I'm working on my fmp at the moment which is pretty much completely photography based and I am desperate to start drawing again but just don't have the time.
Looking at illustrators work today has really inspired me and I can't wait to create some illustrative work next month to add to my portfolio.
I think i'm going to work with some of my past fashion photography and use illustrative techniques to recreate some of the imagery.
Heres some inspiring fashion imagery I found...
Kelly Thompson
Naja Conrad
Petra Dufkova
Raphael Vicenzi
Stina Persson
