So, I've finally had time to set up a blog where I can post all my ideas, inspiration and creations!!!
I'm currently in the middle of working on my final major project so its pretty hectic atm!!
I'm creating a trend publication and website predicting future trends for A/W 2012 for footwear and bags. I've been working on it for 8 weeks so I'm finally reaching the exciting part where i can start creating!!!
DIGITAL HYBRID is the first trend I have predicted for the season, this trend is based on the continual rise in digital media and the spread of the internet. Strong influences for this trend include; digital components, neon/UV lighting, the recent movie 'Tron' and the pixelation of imagery.
ESCAPE is the second trend forecasted for A/W 2012, this trend is a backlash to the digital world, a whole group of consumers won't want to be part of the digital environment any more. This group of people will want to switch off, tune out and escape into their own oasis.
This trend is also very much focused on the individual rediscovering themselves, analysing the human body, the human mind and recognizing emotions, spiritual values and peace of mind. People will being to appreciate their natural body including its flaws and will also become more acceptant of others. Another aspect of this trend is a strong sense of freedom, floating and flying as well as reverting to hand made methods and avoiding digital manipulation at all costs.
PROTECT is the third and final trend for the season. This trend revolves around the protection of the individual, through armour, camouflage and containment. The 'protect' trend has also arisen as a reaction to the increasing digital world.
Technology has enabled strangers to contact others through the internet, it has enabled others to gain access to our lives and identity theft is now one of the faster growing crimes in the US. CCTV is watching our every move, google maps allow people to view your home from across the other side of the world. Crime is continually increasing and consumers need to protect themselves against these threats.
